Fred hails from Detroit Michigan. After a four year stint in the Air Force he moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington where he majored in Drama. Needing employment, he went to work at the Sears Catalog Plant in Seattle where he lingered for thirty years, spending his evenings acting and directing in several of the local theaters. For twenty of those years he served as choir director and organist for Messiah Lutheran Church. He met and courted his wife Sharon, a professional actress, while playing the King in the musical “Cinderella”. She was his Queen. (And still is.) They moved to Sun City Grand in 1999 and began building the Drama and Comedy Club. They opened and directed the Mountain Shadow Theatre Company. Fred was selling and teaching home organs at the Fletcher Music Company in Sun City when the position of Director of Music opened up at Spirit of Grace.
